da apostaganha: Sam Allardyce has an extremely reputable CV that puts him at the top of many a managerial hot-list.
da betano casino: The crown of his jewel? Never being relegated from the Premier League – the statistic that has got job after job along the way.
But right now he’s digging his heels in, using every ounce of experience he has picked up along the way to try and keep the Black Cats out of an inevitable relegation scrap.
One win in six doesn’t bode too well for Big Sam’s side, but the result came against Manchester United and they’ve also picked up draws against Liverpool, Crystal Palace and Southampton.
When the veteran replaced Dick Advocaat earlier in the season, even he couldn’t have seen how difficult this job would’ve turned out. They’ve splashed the cash in an attempt to survive, bringing in Lamine Kone and Wahbi Khazri to try and end the goal drought that seems to happen season after season.
But off-the-pitch, things have also begun to get a little difficult for the Black Cats thanks to the Adam Johnson situation. As much as people will try to keep it out of the equation, Johnson was a well-liked, and most importantly essential part of the Sunderland team. But they face life without him and its another area where they may have to strengthen in the near future.
Big Sam’s side are currently sitting in 17th, one point above the drop zone with only Norwich City, Newcastle United and doomed Aston Villa underneath them. With their next game against Everton postponed, all eyes will be on the Tyne and Wear derby on the 20th March.
It’s a must win for both teams, and it could be the fixture which decides whether it will be red or white facing the drop on the final day of the season. No doubt it is the biggest North-East derby in years with so much riding on the result. A draw is no good for either team and both under-pressure managers will be out for a victory.
And this could be the result which turns things around for Sunderland. A win against your local rivals is always massive for the fans but morale-wise, there is nothing better. Sunderland are away from home and will be faced by a noisy, frustrated St James’ Park who are quick to get on the backs’ of their players and manager.
That is the key to winning the match – frustrating the home crowd. As soon as the St James’ massive get riled, that is the time for Sunderland to seize the initiative and try to win the match. It will be difficult, but again, if there is a game that can turn your season around, this is it.
Role on the biggest Newcastle v Sunderland match in years, and one that could potentially decide the future of either team. Will it be a Championship fixture next season or will both clubs grind out results to stay in the league?
