da pinup bet: According to reports in the Southern Daily Echo, Eric Black is set to remain as part of the coaching staff next season.
da leao: The Scot moved to St Mary’s last summer to work alongside Claude Puel as first-team coach, but his future was thrown into doubt when the Frenchman was sacked and replaced by Mauricio Pellegrino last month following a disappointing 2016/17 campaign.
However, the Southern Daily Echo says that the 53-year-old is set to stay on as he is popular among the players and can provide support for Pellegrino in what is his first managerial job in the Premier League.
Southampton supporters were quick to have their say on the rumour that the former Villa assistant manager was staying on, and many were less than impressed.
While some believe it is a bad decision, others went as far to say that they “don’t trust him” in the role.
