da realbet: In an interview with the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds United legend Eddie Gray has called on current boss Thomas Christiansen to make changes to his system following their poor run of form.
da brwin: Following a positive start to the Championship campaign that saw them sit at the top of the standings, the Whites’ 1-0 defeat against Reading at Elland Road on Saturday meant that they have now lost four of their last five league games – with three of those four coming on the road.
Christiansen’s men have now slipped to sixth in the table following their latest reverse, and while the former Apoel Nicosia boss hasn’t been afraid to make changes to his starting line-up this term – as shown when he dropped Felix Wiedwald against the Royals last weekend – Eddie Gray believes alterations to the formation may need to be made in the future when the Yorkshire outfit are on their travels.
The 69-year-old told the Yorkshire Evening Post: “Confidence helps but the confidence is probably down because the system isn’t quite working.
“We’re not overpowering teams in the midfield and I think Thomas [Christiansen] might have to have a rethink now. Personally, I think there are times when we need three in the middle of the park – another body to make sure that if it is a battle, we can win it.”
Leeds will look to avoid a fourth successive defeat away from home when they face high-flying Bristol City at Ashton Gate on Saturday.
