Mesut Ozil has had a slow start to life under new Arsenal manager Unai Emery, with the former German international seemingly not seeing eye to eye with the Spanish gaffer.
According to Fotomac (via The Daily Mail), Turkish club Fernerbahce are interested in capitalising on the situation by securing the services of the 29-year-old come January.
Ozil announced his retirement from international football after Germany’s poor World Cup in Russia, suggesting that his primary focus would be to restore his Arsenal career.
But the 92-cap playmaker is yet to make a good impression in the new-look Arsenal squad. He didn’t feature in Arsenal’s 3-1 win over West Ham United and was subbed off in the 84th minute at Cardiff City.
The news has shocked some of these Arsenal fans on Twitter, while others believe the time has come for Ozil to leave after failing to live up to expectations.
