This battle has been raging for some time and since Barcelona have officially and publicly stated their own side in this debate, the games at the Camp Nou are currently under threat.
Of course, since the Blaugrana have always been an avid fighter for Catalan independence, the Camp Nou is no stranger to such protests.
For that reason and in order to avoid possible confrontations and problems, La Liga wanted to change the venue of the upcoming El Clasico that is scheduled to be played at the Camp Nou on 26 October.
It seems that both clubs have now dismissed that option and recently, Real Madrid fans have been advised not to wear their jerseys to Catalonia in case the game does take place there, for their safety and security.
Upon seeing such a claim on Twitter, many of their fans couldn’t believe it and they reacted rather negatively on that update.
