da bet7k: The Manchester Evening News’ chief Manchester United writer Samuel Luckhurst has said on Twitter that the club and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer “need to keep James Garner in mind” ahead of the summer transfer window.
Luckhurst was quoting one of his own articles saying that the Red Devils have nearly completed their midfield overhaul, but that they still need to bring in one this summer.
However, the journalist was also quick to point out that while they need an extra body to compete with the likes of Fred, Scott McTominay and Bruno Fernandes, Garner shouldn’t be forgotten.
He described the 18-year-old academy graduate as someone who “outgrew U23 football almost as soon as he first played at that level”, showing the clear talent he has in his locker.
In addition, the teenager has already made six first-team appearances for United during the current campaign, including three starts and four outings in total in the Europa League, and has been in their squad in the Premier League on seven occasions in 2019/20, too.
